Babolat Pure Aero

Babolat Pure Aero

The fluorescent yellow of the new Pure Aero bag practically screamed at me from across the court. It was a visual assault, and honestly, a stark contrast to my usual subdued kit. I’ve always preferred function over flash, but let’s be honest, who doesn’t like a little… pizzazz?

My initial concern revolved around capacity. Six racquets? Fine for a doubles session, but what about a full day’s training? I quickly found that the main compartment easily swallowed my two sticks, a change of clothes, and all the usual gubbins: grips, dampeners, and a half-eaten energy bar (don’t judge). The Thermo-lined racquet compartments, specifically designed to protect strings from temperature extremes, were a welcome upgrade from older models. That said, I’d still probably avoid leaving the bag in direct sunlight during a scorching afternoon.

I usually transport my gear in a Wilson Super Tour bag, which I’ve found consistently reliable. But, the Pure Aero had a leg up when I compared shoulder straps - the ergonomic design and ample padding of the Babolat made carrying a fully loaded bag significantly more comfortable. No digging into the shoulder! A definite win. I especially appreciated the ventilated shoe compartment; it prevents your court shoes from stinking up the rest of your gear. (A small mercy.)

The exterior pockets offered plentiful organizational options. Though, I did wish one of them were slightly larger for storing a full-sized water bottle. No big deal, though. I just sling the bottle into the main compartment. Problem solved.

Honestly, this bag is a solid choice for the serious club player or the aspiring tournament competitor. However, the price point might give a casual weekend warrior pause. If you are serious about tennis, looking for a stylish bag to protect your expensive gear, this is a great choice. Go for it.
